GrowingUpNYC
NYC's resource for parents and caregivers of children ages newborn to age 12. A resource that is being expanded to be a resource for youth ages 13 - 24.
Growing Up NYC | Service Design
Growing Up NYC is New York City's resource for parents and caregivers of children ages newborn to age 12.
I worked with the NYC's Mayor's Office of Opportunity's design and product team to improve it as a resource for parents and expand it to become a web resource for teens and young adults.
Services | Prototyping
I made high fidelity prototypes to test the translations for the Spanish version of Growing Up NYC. These prototypes were tested at libraries in Queens.
Through testing we found out that some words do not translate as well from English and that alternatives would need be considered.
Services | User Research
Our team worked with youth ages 14 - 24+ to talk about what growing up means and what resources are needed.
Through our research, our team found themes and patterns that we started to build product ideas around.
Services | Prototyping
Based on user research and our scope of work project brief, I sketched lo-fidelity sketches that incorporated what we learned from our sessions and utilized the design patterns of Growing Up NYC.
Services | Prototyping & User Testing
After gathering feedback, I reworked the sketches and created visuals and content that I placed into clickable prototypes that our team user tested with.
These prototypes validated many of our findings, led to content improvements and ultimately a new service co-created by New York’s youth.
These assets were handed to Blue State Digital for further testing, refining and implementation.
